Bath Half Marathon
sfc interview first-time bath half runner ahead of race day!
We are now a matter of days away from the 2019 Bath Half Marathon, so Sporting Family Change took the opportunity to sit down and talk with Tim, a first-time runner. We hear from him about his running journey with the charity thus far and how he is now feeling ahead of the big day on March 17th.
Tim is still accepting donations towards running the Bath Half and if you would like to make a charitable contribution then please do so by accessing his Localgiving page here. Many thanks.
Our journey to the Bath half 2019 has begun!
SFC have taken part in the Bath Half Marathon since 2015, with 20 charity place spaces being consistently filled every year. Each year more family members have taken part; many of whom are new to running. In 2018, we ran a programme “Jimmy’s Angels”; parents of the families we work with who were new to running started training, initially to build fitness and afterwards with a running coach. Those new to running were buddied with more experienced runners and they trained together. £1,000 donation from the Bath Half Marathon Fund supported this initiative.
Everyone who has taken part over the years has been amazing; your determination has helped raise awareness and much appreciated funding for us. Finally, a huge thank you for all the generous donations that we’ve received as sponsorship over the years.

Bath Half 2019 Update
Fantastic news! We have almost filled all our spaces for next year’s race on 17 March 2019. Many of our runners are family members who have never run before. It’s a huge step for them and amazing that they’ve signed up to run! Training has started and we are confident everyone will complete the race. You can still support us, either by offering to run on our behalf or by donating to our fundraising page.
